English; Symbols

In English, this time our task was to choose from three and I chose tunnel between both worlds the other mother's world and Coraline's world. This is a symbol to the well that we are introduced to around the start of the movie, as we come back to it around the end, to dispose of the key, as well as the other mother's hand. As some people believe that the well is the same portal on the other side that leads to the other mother's world, but it is down the well, some people have noticed the simulatíes between them too, the way they both seem never-ending. I am not the best at theories. As the deeper down the well you look you seem to notice it starts to look like the tunnel through the door to the other mother's world. I may be wrong, so you do not need to belive this at all. So I've found multiple images with the similarities. (This paragraph probably isn't related to the task I was meant to do, I was meant to write about symbols, but the is more like a similarity.)

English; Music in film

In English, we are starting the workshop, and there will be more of them, and this workshop is based on Music in Coraline.

Example;
1. Piece one;
- peaceful fast pace, and happy vibe, cheerful. Full fo uplifting, full of energy
2. Piece two;
- Slow pace, sad sounding, a bit of anger, enjoyable, emotional, it sounds like someone losing someone dear to you and it sounds like the end of something bad, there is kinda a bit of happiness in it.
Music in film
Non-diagetic - not a natural sound e.g music
Diagetic - natural sounds e.g door slamming/footsteps

Tempo - means speed 'how fast?'
fast - creates upbeat
slow - melancholy, sadder, less energy

Chords
Major - happy uplifting
Minor - sad, sinister

Dynamics - Volume 'how loud'
Quiet - makes you focus
Louder -  energy/attention
Starts quiet/get louder - build intensity

Coraline soundtracks
Track 1; Miss Spink & Forcible
Tempo - slow and fast-paced
Chords - Minor
Dynamics - Quiet

Track 2; Carolines dispair
Tempo - Slow
Chords - Minor
Dynamics - Quiet gets louder

Track 3; The beginning
Tempo - Slow
Chords -  Minor
Dynamics - starts quietly then gets louder

Track 4; The Garden scene
Tempo - Starts slow then goes Fast
Chords - Minor
Dynamics - Starts quietly then gets louder

Opening scene; The beginning
Build intensity and sound like a lullaby, made-up words, sung by little kids.

Paragraph Example
In the opening scene, music is used effectively to create an atmosphere. For example, tempo, chords, and dynamics make it feel like a creepy lullaby. The tempo starts slow but then gets faster, which builds intensity. it is in the minor key which makes it feel it sad. This makes the audience think the film will be mysterious, scary, and creepy.

SOST; Moari trades task

In social studies, we have there task to choose from and I chose the one about the mind map, about it because it seemed simple enough. I know there isn't that many details, because i didn't research that much about it.

Home economics; Chicken stir fry

In cooking, we made a chicken stir fry in-out individual groups of four. As we made our very own stir-fries, as the ingredients we used are, chicken, oil sesame - flavor, veg selection, and 2 min noodles(excluded flavor sachet). As some of us in our oven groups did not know how to cook 2 min noodles. As I  think after all the result was great, it tasted great. As our team's work was a bit better than the other lesson. I think I think we need to work on is being consistent on getting all the ingredients together, on cooking the noodles. Overall we did great.

Film study - Coraline Task 1

In English, we are doing a film study on Coraline, and there is a heap of set tasks to complete so there will be more of these types of posts about Coraline. And this is my first task and it is about settings, and the task I chose was a visual response, it was simple enough to do was to write about a certain scene and what I think it's importance means in the film, and I chose the scene down below in the slideshow. I have no idea what is the name so yeah... I hopefully wrote the things I needed to do.

And I forgot to mention in the slideshow is about the rest of the scenery, so here's my take on it, everything seems all gloomy dark and pale and pastel, as the hill seemed as well that they were standing on.

English - Self directed learners

In English, we are focusing on this Self-directed learner matrix, and what we know we can do and the things we need to work on. the rest of the red writing explains it.

1.  Firstly I need to know what work I need t complete, to speak up to ask someone to tell me what we are doing.
2. Ask for feedback on what I am doing more often.
I couldn't think of a thrid.
