Art: Dilution Paintings

 Over the few weeks in art, we have been slowly working through our dilution paintings on a white bit of paper/card that had been painted over using black gesso. The way we painted these were by diluting white paint with water to make more faded/darker tones that are shown in the image we had chosen to paint. as for the lighter tones we built up the white paint in layers making it light and more accurate to the image. here is the result of this week.

  1. Well done, Tyra. Kia Tau! You've handled the paint very well in your dilution painting. You describe well the practical aspects of the painting. Next time you discuss the composition, think about how the figure has been placed on the page. Do you see a diagonal emphasis in the portrait? Good mahi!
