Health/Hauora in Science

Aim : I want to find out, if I can keep meat safe by putting salt, and BBQ flavouring onto it.

Planing:
Needed: ingredients and  materials
  • 3 bit's of Raw Beef
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  •  Lemon grass, seasoning/BBQ 
  • Scrap paper or paper towels




Method:

  1. Sit the 3 bit's of meat on  a tray/pile of scrap paper. 
  2. Have three slices with  salt and, seasoning/BBQ flavour... don't put not too much salt other wise it will be to salty, then rub some BBQ seasoning of it
  3. And Leave on plain (with nothing on it)
  4. Get some string
  5. then at last... hang them with some string some where that is out of reach of pets or young children then place below some, scrap paper or paper towels underneath them and wait and leave them a week...
  6. Watch whats happens (if u want)






























I was really hard I smelt some seasoning it hasn't gone mouldy because it had seasoning and salt it was delicious mostly every one ate it... great thing i ever made beef jerky.... but it was a bit salty... next I would try to put less next time

The the beef jerky was covered with salt to preserved it then covered with... a layer of BBQ seasoning then dried out by hanging the strips of meat by hanging them by strings then left it for a week...
