In English, we are reading around five books and to write down one fact from each book we had read.
the books I had read are, Street Style Skateboarding, cool football facts (American), Kieran Reads, and go Fiji go!

Facts:
1. Street style skateboarding has been around since the 1950s.
2. Teams that play outside football have 48 footballs for each game
3. Keiran reads were born in Auckland, on the 26th of October 1985.
4. Cyclone Winston smashed Fiji with full force around 6:30 PM
5. more than 90 million people watch the NFL super bowl on Tv each year.

Skateboarding is fun. It can also be ecofriendly

Art reflection: Lino print

In art overall, I believe I did pretty good at drawing up the bird the saddleback and
tracing it onto the bit of lino. The result of things printing was a bit off on the second
and third times. It wasn't too bad. It was ok with the results of them. Hopefully,
in semester 2 I can do better in art. And be more creative.

Science: Acid Rain

In science, we are doing an experiment on acid rain. Acid rain makes chemical weathering happen more quickly. buildings and statues that are made from rock can be damaged as a result. Acid rain forms when fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas are burned, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur dioxide escape into the air.

Why do we care about it?
Because it can damage the environment, and kill the livings things that live there. Plants, animals, water life, etc. It can also break down limestone, stones, and statues. It makes the water more acidic and kills off the water life that lives there.

Trees do bear some blame for acid rain | New Scientist

What we used:
Petri dish
Weigh boat
Blue litmus paper
Bromothymol blue
Universal indicator
Leaf
Apple piece
Calcium carbonate

Method:
1. set up Petri dish
*Add a few drops of water to these.
2. add 1 spatula of sodium sulfate to weigh
- take starting photo.
3. Add 5 drops of sulfuric acid and quickly put lid on.
4. Watch and take photos

Science: netrallsatinon

Today in science we are doing an experiment about neutralization. A Universal indicator - shows if acid or base. the colour shows us whether its an acid or a base. Blue, green, and red. (PH Scale) the acid we are using is hydrochloric acid and the base we are using today is called sodium hydroxide. An acid has a ph scale of 0-6 is the opposite of a base, which are sour. And a base is has a PH scale of 7-14. Lastly is a neutral area on the PH scale which is green in between the acidic side a the base side.

A chemical reaction occurs when you mix and acid and base together. the base cancels out the effect of the acid. this reaction is called a neutralisation reaction because a neutral solution is made up if you add around the right amount of acid and base together.

What is Neutralisation? - Twinkl Teaching Wiki
Equipment: a test tube. test tube rack, sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid, dropper or a dropper bottle, universal indicator solution.

Instructions:
1 add 2ml (2cm ish) of NACH into a test tube.
2 2 drops of universal indicator.
3 add drops of HCI until you reach a green colour.

Creative Writing - Piece 2 - The other me

Submission 2 - Freewriting

The other me

I don't live anywhere in particular due to me previously running away. The orphanage was
messed up. Out of fear that If I return they will hate me. And that's one of the things that
I am afraid of the most. I wander the streets alone. Hiding in the crowds as I have recently
discovered this feeling of fear. Sometimes I wished that It didn't exist. I’ve already messed
up too many times. But there is another reason I don't want to return and need to find out
the truth about the huge gauge scared marks on my neck. I can only remember being
at the orphanage since I was five but I can’t remember anything before that. I need to
know why. Why was I left in that orphanage with no recollection of who I originally
was. And why I had lost the ability to talk and also my broken emotions.

“Move out of the way!” c r a c k. As light flickered before my eyes as I hit the ground
hard it had felt like my whole head had split open. As I began to hear static like on the
TVs who didn't have a connection it rang in my ears non-stop. It felt like the world was
shaking.  I could no longer move. I didn't know what to do to make the horrible sound
stop. As pitch darkness hit my view. It seemed like I had lost who I was. Who am I again?
It seemed like I had asked this question before.

Creative Writing - Piece 1 - You… at first sight

(Note: there may be mistakes and many errors in this piece of writing because it hasn't been edited)

You… at first sight (u are the murderer.)

Today is the day I start my 2nd week of school. I usually got ready, skipped breakfast
and headed to school but today seemed to be different. The streets were more chatter
than usual and less busy… I lived alone so I had no one to praise me or to tell me not
to eat. I walked to school and I listened to the people around me talking to give me
something to do with my time. they did you hear there is that killer somewhere in this
town that everyone talks about.” one whispered in a panicky tone.

“Are you seriously going to believe what people say?” the other added. I carried on
walking, yawning. As I carried on making my way towards school. The entrance
was tall with an old looking feel to it. “The same old plain old school” I murmured to
myself. I entered the grounds and onto the cracked tiled path. I entered the class.
With the same old rickety wooden floorboards and the tiny single desks. The single
glazed windows and an outdated chalkboard and front desk where the teacher sits.
Luckily I wasn't late today like it would even matter to me. I have nothing to walk towards
so I don’t have a future life of luxury. Working at fast food places is good enough to pay
for the house rent.

“Today we have a new student joining us,” the teacher sighed. He was slim tall with
pale skin and dark black hair. And with dark rings under his eyes. He kind of seemed
a bit familiar to me. Oh, wait don't tell me…As I busted out laughing. As his eyes instantly
shifted to me petrified as did everyone else's in the room. It had looked like he was about
to flee when he had recognized me. I could see the fear in his eyes. “Could you quiet it down.”
the teacher added sighing. “I-its yy-ou.” he yelped as he shakily pointed at me.
“Y-you killed my parents!” he yelled. I grimly smiled at him. “Now's not the time to be
joking around. How about you sit down next to him?” the teacher pestered in an obnoxious tone.
“Come on take a seat take a seat already….” as I wavered to the desk next to me.
He slowly walked over as he slowly pulled the chair out trembling. As he sat down as
he looked away from me. “Shhhh, you shouldn't joke about death
otherwise you will be next...” I whispered. Grimly smiling at him chuckling a bit.
