Art: Stencil

For the past couple of weeks in Art, we started to make our very own stencils of our choice. I decided to not use a reference online of an already existing stencil and decided to create my own one. It took a bit to finish it due to taking a bit to draw all the bits and sections that I needed to cut out. This is the image I used for a reference for the stencil. (The stencil isn't the best lt could've been.) after I had finished the stencil I had tested it out on two bits of paper the first time I used it on a grey brick background it didn't look the best. because I had rushed it. the second time I used it I did it on black painted paper with a gradient it didn't look too good because I had a bit too much paint. I was too eager to start on the actual thing.

Overall I believe the final product turned out well. The background to others and even for me, it had the vibes/looks of a paranormal video of sorts. Due to that idea, I had added the video frame and REC button to it. I'm not that happy with the frame due to me not painting in a straight line. But the stencil did turn out pretty well on the pit of paper. I know I can do better next time and try to put more effort into it and take more time to paint. (instead of rushing to finish for no reason.)

SOST: Technology and change Essay

Use the Lawyer paragraph to explain this.

Paragraph 1: Introduction.

Re-state what the question is in a paragraph

Many years ago the ancient Egyptians created some of the many modern inventions we use today. This includes toothbrushes, toothpaste, scissors, calendars, clocks, paper and many more. This essay will show some information about some of these inventions and how they have changed throughout time.

Paragraph 2: Invention 1 explained

State what the invention is, what it does and how far it has come up until today

An important invention during the Ancient Egypt time were the medical tools. Ancient Egypt medical tools were made of wood and metals that were used in surgery and medical treatment; these significant tools were made in 4000 BC. Since then our technology has changed into shiny metal tools of many types and many syringes and medicines that can help with many things nowadays. These tools are important because if they didn't exist at all we would have no way to treat or give medicine(They are even starting to make robots to do tricky surgerys now.)

Paragraph 3: Invention 2 explained

State what the invention is, what it does and how far it has come up until today

A really important invention created during the ancient epyptian era is paper The first ever type of paper in the world was made by the Egyptians using the papyrus plant in 3000 BC.  Paper is used to keep track of important things and to keep updated on things that happen. Nowadays we make paper out of a certain type of tree suitable to be turned into it. You can't have paper without scissors of course.  Ancient Egyptians created the first ever scissors created in 1500 BC. They were used for cutting hair and for aiding in fashion. They were later adapted into the modern day scissors much smaller than the ancient ones and more easier to use.

Paragraph 4: Invention 3 explained

State what the invention is, what it does and how far it has come up until today

A significant invention invented during this time is the calendar. The egyptian civil calendar, which included 365 days, was founded in 2510 BC. In our time we now use a calendar that consists of twelve months and the 365 days printed in a book-like format out of paper.  Calendars are used to keep track on what day of the year it is. (Mainly we use calendars on phones, laptops and many other devices.) This invention is significant because we wouldn't have any way to tell what day it is or even year.

Paragraph 5: Conclusion

Go over the points you have just made above

If we didn't have these inventions including: toothbrushes, mints calendars, and clocks. We would have eventually invented them. But if we hadn't, life would be pretty different in the modern age. So If we didn't we would have had a terrible sense of time and dates and our even our own hygiene.

Science: Car speed experiment

Yesterday in science we have been learning how to calculate the speed from d/t. we used this to find out the speed of the cars on carmen road using seconds them from that converting them into kilometers.

How did we do the experiment?
We worked either pair or groups of four to help record the speed using a stopwatch between the distance of two lamposts, (51m) of up to 10 cars, and compare their speeds to finds out if they were speeding or not.

What did we find out?
we found out from the investigation that all of the cars were either doing the speed limit and below. the fastest car had gone 49. 18 km hr-1.  The average time of the cars going past the first post to the second one was 4.24s.

A way to improve the results is to either put lines across the road where the lampposts are or, to stand further away from in-between the two posts so you can get a better view on where the car passes past the first post to the other one.

Some things that could've impacted the speed of the cars are us standing at the fence holding stopwatches timing them. Another impact is the traffic lights ahead at the intersection, this had of most likely impacted their speed causing them to slow down.

Art: Street Art Tonal drawing

In Art, we chose from a heap of different street art to draw and I chose this skull. I did the drawing using a B pencil. and the shading consists of many lines and smudging of the pencil lines. I tried to get it as accurate as I could. (This is only in penicil so it won't look alike colorwise.)

SOST: Careers Inquiry.

In social studies, we have been learning about different careers. we were then to research a career that is of interest to me. I chose to research Crop workers. I found this interesting because plants are cool. here is some of the information I've found out.

Introduction to DTE

In DTE's introductory part we were given the task to search up the design process online and to chose from a couple of designs to get some inspirations from it this is what I've come up with. here the three designs that inspired me. and the design that I had come up with.

One of the Inspirations:

In DTE this week, we created an infographic about ergonomics using one of the following programs: Piktochart, Canva, Venngage. For this infographic, I used piktochart and using some of the already of the existing infographics online as a reference to give me some of the information and Ideas. Here is my simple plain infographic I came up with that no longer than 5-10 minutes.

Here is the infographic I used as I reference of design and some of the information I got.

Critical reflection: Overall I think the introductory section was pretty easy to understand and pretty straight forward and easy.

What is a circuit?

What is a circuit? A circuit is path electricity flows along. it starts at a battery and flows through a copper wire to a light bulb or other object as it would flow through the other side of the battery/power source. the difference between series and parallel is the flow of electricity. as in a parallel circuit the electricity only goes on the way but in a series circuit, the electricity splits ups and passes the multiple points instead of one.

Show parallel + series circuit with 2 batteries 2 bulbs and a switch.

What is voltage? how does it differ in series vs parallel? a voltage is the pressure of an electrical circuit's power source that pushes the charged electrons through a current.

What is current? how does it vary in series and parallel? Current is the rate of the flow of an electric charge passing a point or region.
