Which of these websites are real news and fake news?
1 The Onion
What does the website look like?
The title page looks kinda normal.
What photos are they using?
A man standing on a balcony with photoshopped drones in the background
What headlines are they sharing?
About a mans sending drones away to take photos of other people
Do you think it is a factual or satirical website?
it is factual it does not sound real to me like who send drones out to take pictures of people and how many drones that are in the photo are unreal.
2 The New York Times
What does the website look like?
The title looks like off a newspaper.
What photos are they using?
looks like a meeting of people.
What headlines are they sharing?
about taxes. And other things I do not really understand

I can't really tell I think it is Factual
3 The Civilian
What does the website look like?
The title is interesting
What photos are they using?
Of horse and people
What headlines are they sharing?
About random thing and some that have swearing that is so unbelievable
Do you think it is a factual or satirical website?
Satirical indefinite because it does not make any sense a new source does not have swearing in as I scrolled down.
4. The Daily Mail
What does the website look like?
Full of ads on the sides, how am I meant to believe it?
What photos are they using?
Look they are out there and all over the place to me
What headlines are they sharing?
Over some sliting someone throat because they did not get a cigarette something like that.
Do you think it is a factual or satirical website?
Satirical because of the images showed the number of ads
5. The Daily Mash
What does the website look like?
Really Fake
What photos are they using?
ones of a bear and other random things that seem really fake
What headlines are they sharing?
About tomatoes and other things.
Do you think it is a factual or satirical website?
Satirical because I do not believe it at all it looks fake as I scrolled down I found some swearing
6. The Herald
What does the website look like?
It looks like a normal one
What photos are they using?
one about a fire in Nelson
What headlines are they sharing?
This is real news to me.

Factual of the fire article
7. The shovel
What does the website look like?
Pretty fake as soon as you scroll down
What photos are they using?
The photo does not relate to the article
What headlines are they sharing?
about someone waiting for a train for 200 yrs in then dying something like that really weird.
Do you think it is a factual or satirical website?
Satirical because it just likes the other websites they have things in them that are not needed.
8. Daily Telegraph
What does the website look like?
It looks believable
What photos are they using?
Of people that look like they are from raving, I do not really know.
What headlines are they sharing?
the behavior of the player's something much like that.
Do you think it is a factual or satirical website?
Factual the sports part sounded real.
Make a list of five things that you could use to check if something is fake or real
1 Check and Read the title
2 Read the article
3 Check the photo
4 scroll down the page and check for unusual things like swearing and really unreal stuff
5 Double check and make your decision of is it factual or satirical

ReplyDeleteI liked your blog post about whats fake and whats real. its kinda hard to find out whats real and fake, I had to right click the image to see if the photo is real and if it is real another site has the same thing, that's how I knew it was real.
Maybe next time you could put all the questions together, as in not having the what was the website like ETC, since the words look a little jumbled, Anyway good blog post keep up the good work.
